Nuve

Nuve

Spring 2015
Cotton fabric structures and
neopixels controlled by arduino

The action of inhaling and exhaling has always fascinated me. The fragility of our bodies can be easily read by our breaths as we sleep quietly at night. One could pause the pace of life by just focusing on our  humble breathing rythm. Nuve is an illuminated fabric sculpture with neopixels which are programed by an arduino to fade in and out with a slight color change. These light “breaths” represent my thoughts, emotions and imaginations contained within me. The process of repetition that went into making the gathering of 7 yards of fabric, speaks of the objects’ nature of compiling and becoming a cloud “nuve” of thoughts, emotions and prayers.
